According to the Chinese horoscope, 2023 is the year of the Rabbit (兔). To celebrate CNY, Nike is planning to release a new “Year of the Rabbit” edition of the Dunk Low.
The “Year of the Rabbit” Dunk Low features a mixed-material, multi-colored design. The standout feature is the fuzzy white paneling on the Swooshes and tongue tags that mimics a rabbit’s fur. As buying “something gold” is a long-standing new year tradition in China, the shoe also features gold accents throughout, including on the Nike branding on the heels, the 兔 symbols on the tongue tags, and the “2023” dubraes. A gold foil rabbit motif also appears on the lateral heel.
This isn’t the only Chinese New Year-themed release for 2023. Nike also has an Air Force 1 and Dunk High on the way that pay homage to San Francisco’s and its iconic Chinatown neighborhood.
