Original Story (10/10/22): Throughout 2022, Nike has been celebrating the 40th anniversary of the classic Air Force 1 with special colorways, including ones based on specific locales from around the globe (such as the “Little Accra”). Just revealed is a new colorway inspired by San Francisco’s Chinatown neighborhood.
San Francisco Chinatown is the largest Chinatown outside of Asia as well as the oldest Chinatown in North America, established all the way back in 1848. Nike honors this historic community with its own Air Force 1 Low, dressed primarily in white leather with a pink gradient Swoosh. Tongue tags also come in pink and feature a lotus flower graphic and “舊金山” (“San Francisco” in Chinese) in gold foil. This same branding appears on the insoles. We see another lotus flower with a pink tint debossed onto the lateral heel. Rounding out the design is a white midsole with a pink gradient heel and an icy blue translucent outsole.
