KSUBI Launches “Blank Canvas” Program With Artist Wasabi

0

KSUBI has a long history of championing artists. In fact, the streetwear brand was first established as a collective of creative artists
themselves. Following partnerships with artists such as Hidji and Slawn, KSUBI has now launched a new “Blank Canvas” initiative that will provide up-and-coming artists from different mediums a platform to showcase their talent. For the first chapter of this program, KSUBI is highlighting Buffalo-based contemporary artist Wasabi.

Wasabi’s unique art style draws influence from ’70s punk culture and childhood nostalgia. Slightly deranged versions of beloved cartoon characters such as Mickey Mouse, Bart Simpson, and Astro Boy are commonly found throughout his paintings. For this collaboration, KSUBI offers tees and hoodies from its classic 4×4 range as the canvas, which Wasabi then transforms into wearable art by adding his signature punk take on pop iconography.

Comprised of two tees and one hoodie, the KSUBI x Wasabi collection is available starting October 19th on KSUBI.com and at KSUBI stores in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago and London. Additionally, bespoke 1-of-1 pieces are available at KSUBI New York. Check out the collection below.
