In 1986, Run-DMC released “My Adidas” and helped take the Three Stripes from athletic wear to streetwear. A decade later, on the opposite end of the music spectrum, KoRn also embraced the brand with their own “A.D.I.D.A.S.” song. The pioneering nu-metal band went against the grain, rocking adidas tracksuits at their shows in a time when the scene was all about leather and denim. A long overdue partnership between KoRn and adidas Originals has now been announced, as the two get set to release a collaborative collection that celebrates this trailblazing legacy.
The collection is comprised of bold styles inspired by KoRn’s 1996 album Life Is Peachy. Along with graphic tees and hoodies, the collection offers to signature takes on the adidas tracksuit – one in black with white accents and another with purple sequins. The accompanying footwear includes a black Campus 00s and a white Supermodified sneaker, both boasting a suite of unique details such as graphic insoles, spare laces, a guitar pick keychain, and specially branded packaging.
