Crenshaw Skate Club, with humble beginnings in South Central LA, is now known worldwide, thanks in part to collaborations with the likes of BBC ICECREAM and Nike SB. For their next team-up, CSC is connecting with their hometown NFL team, the Los Angeles Chargers, offering a collection that is hyperlocal in its roots, yet global in its message and appeal.
The five-piece CSC x LA Chargers collection is comprised of hoodies, tees, and skate decks. Each piece is adorned with custom graphics that include a Black football player drawn in an old-school cartoon art style, spray paint-style branding, and a map of South Central Los Angeles. Through this capsule, Crenshaw Skate Club continues to represent and empower inner city skaters all over the world.
“As a longtime football fan, being able to merge the worlds of football and skateboarding has been a goal of mine ever since the inception of CSC back in 2017,” says Tobey McIntosh, founder of Crenshaw Skate Club. “And to do this alongside my favorite NFL Team (LA Chargers) is a dream come true. I was drawn to the resilient and gritty nature of the Chargers as a kid and have been a fan ever since. As a skateboarding brand birthed out of South Central, CSC aligns with the resilience of the Chargers and this capsule collection is the embodiment of that.”
The Crenshaw Skate Club x LA Chargers collection launches October 16th at the Chargers Team Store at SoFi Stadium ahead of the team’s MNF game against the Dallas Cowboys. An online release will follow on October 24th on CSC’s website. Check out the lookbook photos below.
