Jack Harlow has been a lifelong fan of New Balance and officially declared himself Team NB by signing with the brand in 2022. Over the past couple years, the Grammy-nominated artist has been featured in various New Balance campaigns, and even got his own pack of friends-and-family 550s.
While those 550s didn’t release to the public, this next collab will. Strategically revealed over Kentucky Derby weekend, the Jack Harlow x New Balance 1906R features a floral pattern across its upper as a nod to the flowers found all over Churchill Downs. This iconic racetrack hosts the Kentucky Derby every year and is located in Jack Harlow’s hometown of Louisville.
The floral print on the base is paired with a purple-pink overlays, matching the angelonias and stargazer lilies found at the horse racing complex. Meanwhile, the heel counter and midsole come in a deep green to represent the flower leaves.
As the Kentucky Derby is a dress-to-impress affair, the shoes features a mix of luxurious materials, such as velvet on the tongues and laces. The insoles also feature graphics of a man and woman in their fancy Kentucky Derby outfits.
