STAPLE and PUMA are continuing their partnership in 2024, kicking off the year with a “Year of the Dragon” collection of footwear and apparel inspired by the craft and traditions of the Lunar New Year.
The collection features two of PUMA’s sneaker silhouettes, the classic Suede and the chunky, ’90s skate-inspired PUMA-180. With five styles total, the footwear is done up in STAPLE’s signature black, grey, and pink color palette and adorned with the streetwear brand’s iconic Pigeon logo. The footwear and apparel also feature STAPLE’s “S” Dragon logo from the ’90s, which the brand recently brought back to celebrate the Year of the Dragon. Apparel pieces include graphic tees and all-over print tees, hoodies, and sweatpants.
For the rollout, STAPLE has teamed up with the New York Chinese Freemasons Athletic Club (CFMAC), the oldest Chinese lion dance club in NYC. Founded in 1956, CFMAC provides youth with opportunities to learn and celebrate traditional Chinese heritage through the culture of lion dance, martial arts and athletics – cultivating teamwork and instilling leadership in each member. Members of the CFMAC can be seen rocking the new collection in the campaign imagery below.
