STAPLE Celebrates Its Roots With “S” Dragon Capsule

With over 25 years in the game, STAPLE is a certified streetwear OG. Founded by Jeff Staple in 1997, STAPLE was one of the pioneering brands coming out of NYC’s Lower East Side that helped form the basis of modern streetwear culture. Today, the brand is best known for its Pigeon motif, which first appeared on the infamous STAPLE x Nike SB Dunk Low in 2003. However, there is a lesser known logo that is just as important to the brand’s history: the “S” Dragon.

The “S” Dragon logo appeared on some of STAPLE’s first pieces, worn by early supporters that included the likes of Mos Def and Redman. Now, STAPLE is bringing back the “S” Dragon for a special capsule that not only celebrates a quarter century of history, but also the upcoming Year of the Dragon.

STAPLE’s new “S” Dragon capsule includes a black tee with puff print graphics, a heavyweight fleece hoodie with chenille and felt patches, and an embroidered twill snapback. The pieces are presented with a lookbook shot in the Lower East Side, near STAPLE’s original studio locations on Grand, Division, Orchard, and Rivington. These first four studio locations are highlighted on the “S” Dragon Golden Bear Varsity Jacket, a friends-and-family exclusive piece created for those who have been vital to the brand over the years.

The STAPLE “S” Dragon capsule is available now on the STAPLE website. Check out the lookbook shots below.
