Nike Air Force 1 “Shuangxi” Celebrates Chinese New Year & Valentine’s Day

While Nike has a plethora of “Year of the Dragon” releases for Lunar New Year, nothing compares to this recently revealed “喜喜” Air Force 1.

The Nike Air Force 1 “喜喜” (pronounced “Shuangxi”) commemorates not only Chinese New Year, but also Valentine’s Day, as the two holidays coincide with each other in 2024. This double celebration is marked by “喜喜” branding, which means “Double Happiness.”

The attention to detail on these “Shuangxi” Air Force 1s is next level. Silky gold uppers are embellished with floral and other graphics that symbolize love in Chinese culture, such as goldfish and mandarin ducks. This pattern is even applied to the midsole. Insane dragon embroidery wraps around the Swoosh, with additional embroidery and a heart pendant found on the toe box. Special “喜喜” branding is found on the tongue tags, heelstrips, and lace jewels. This same branding is also found on the special packaging. The shoes are releasing alongside hoodies in gold and red colorways.

Of course, getting your hands on an Air Force 1 this luxurious will be a challenge. For one, they will be limited (rumored only 3000 pairs made) and releasing exclusively in China. Plus, the retail price is set at 2599 RMB, the equivalent of about $365 USD. The increased retail price is due in part to its 24k gold plated hardware (aglets, lace jewel, toebox heart).

The Nike Air Force 1 “喜喜” (Shuangxi) is set to release February 14th exclusively on SNKRS in China. Grab a detailed look below.
