Brooks Teams Up With STAPLE For Its First Lifestyle Shoe

1

Brooks is the top footwear brand for running in the US, though they don’t get much love in the “hypebeast” sneakerhead community. Brands with running heritage like ASICS and New Balance have found success in the space by reintroducing running silhouettes from their archives as lifestyle models. So why can’t Brooks do the same?

It turns out they can. Brooks has teamed up with Jeff Staple to present the STAPLE x Brooks Adrenaline GTS 4, marking the brand’s official launch into the lifestyle sneaker space and it’s first collaboration on a heritage model.

Brooks picked the perfect partner in Jeff Staple for this project. With decades of experience in the footwear industry, the streetwear OG has worked with pretty much every major sneaker brand, and he’s clearly tapped into what’s hot and what’s not. As Y2K-era mesh runners have taken over the hype sneaker market, Staple dug into the Brooks vault to bring back the Adrenaline GTS 4, a running shoe first introduced in 2002.

STAPLE’s take on the Adrenaline GTS 4 comes in the streetwear brand’s signature pigeon-inspired color scheme, comprised of grey, black, and a pinkish-red hue that matches the feet of a pigeon. STAPLE’s iconic Pigeon logo appears on the tongues, with additional STAPLE branding found on the lateral side tag, tongue strip, and insoles. The campaign images for the collab feature Jeff dressed as a bank robber—a literal take on him “going through the vault.”

The STAPLE x Brooks Adrenaline GTS 4 is set to drop on March 13th on the Brooks website and on staplepigeon.com (11am ET). Those in NYC can also cop in-person at the grand opening of STAPLE’s flagship store, located at the historic 21 Mercer Street in SoHo. Check out the pair below.

  1. […] Two decades later, Jeff Staple is still drawing crowds. Over 300 people showed up to the grand opening of the STAPLE flagship—thankfully, with no fights or NYPD involvement this time around. Attendees were treated to bites and drinks from Nom Wah Tea Parlor, Romeo’s, and Boba Guys, sounds by DJ Shu-G and Va$htie, and surprise performances from Shirt and MC Jin. The opening also served as the launch for STAPLE’s new sneaker collaboration with Brooks. […]
