Charles Barkley’s second signature shoe with Nike, the Air Max2 CB 94, is back once again in its original “Black/Purple” colorway, as well as in the white-based “Suns” colorway.
First released in 1994, the Air Max2 CB is a certified hardwood classic, one of the most iconic creations by legendary footwear designer Tinker Hatfield. These colorways have already re-released a couple times this decade, though if you snoozed on the previous drops or simply need a new pair, now is the perfect time to re-up.
Making its return is the OG “Black/Purple” colorway—the same pair that Barkley rocked during his stellar performance in the 1994 NBA playoffs, leading the Suns in a first round sweep against the Warriors. It is joined by a more recent “Suns” colorway, first released in 2022, featuring a white leather upper with orange and purple accents nodding to the Phoenix team. This version includes Barkley’s “34” jersey number embroidered on the lateral heels.
The Nike Air Max2 CB 94 “Black/Purple” and “Suns” colorways drop May 1st via select retailers such as DTLR, JD Sports, and Foot Locker. Check out the official images below.
