SNS Is Dropping a Collaboration on the Vans Knu Skool

0

In 1998, Vans introduced the Knu Skool silhouette, offering skaters a fresh take on the classic Old Skool. While the Old Skool features a slim profile, the puffier build of the Knu Skool was more in line with other skate shoes of the ’90s. The Knu Skool has remained mostly dormant in recent years, only brought back in 2015 exclusively via Vans Japan, then reintroduced globally in 2022 through a collaboration with Imran Potato. The Knu Skool is now fully back on the market, offered in various GR colorways. However, collaborations on the model have been few and far between.

Swedish brand and global retailer SNS (Sneakersnstuff) is now filling this gap with its own iteration of the Knu Skool. It features a premium brown hairy suede upper, contrasted by a royal blue 3D sidestripe. SNS branding is found on the heel pull tabs and the insoles, while the Vans Vault logo occupies the tongue tags. This may be one of the last time’s we see the Vans Vault logo on a shoe, as the division has recently been rebranded to OTW by Vans. Rounding out the design is a dark gum vulcanized midsole and waffle outsole.

To introduce the collaboration, SNS and Vans have teamed up with Stockholm-based skate collective and brand EVA skateboards, who star in the campaign shot by photographer Chris Shonting.

The SNS x Vans Knu Skool will be released exclusively via the SNS app on November 4th, with sign ups now open. Check out the close-up shots and campaign imagery below.
