Chinese-born, London-based designer Feng Chen Wang is infusing her design language to Nike Sportswear staples, resulting in a collection informed by both fashion and function.
For their first ever collaboration together, Feng Chen Wang and Nike have designed a range of technically innovative apparel, the standout piece being the Transform Jacket. Perfectly exemplifying Feng’s signature overconstructed look, the jacket is equipped with removable components that allows for various styling options. With some deconstruction, the piece can be worn as a jacket, a skirt, or a vest. This way of designing is inspired by Feng’s mantra “to own less is to own more.”
In a similar vein, the matching cargo pants can be transformed into shorts. These modular outerwear pieces can also be layered with the rest of the set, which includes tees, a long-sleeve knit top, bra, and leggings.
“As a designer, my creative inspiration often draws from my personal experiences, cultural upbringing, and the influences of people around me,” says Feng Chen Wang brand. “Like Nike, I aim to create more inclusive and sustainable products. This jacket is a perfect example of how products can be designed with inclusiveness and versatility in mind, making them suitable for everyone. Regardless of gender, age, body type, or what sports one likes to play, everyone can take pieces of a garment apart and combine them until a perfect match is found.”
