Kappa & SURGEON Unveil Limited Edition Futbol Kits

0

Italian sportswear brand Kappa is celebrating its futbol roots with the release of new soccer kits created in collaboration with SURGEON.

Kappa’s futbol heritage goes back to the ’70s when they became the first brand in Italy to sponsor a futbol club, Juventus. Kappa would later kit out other clubs across Europe during the ’80s and ’90s, the likes of Manchester City, Barcelona, Roma and Tottenham Hotspur. SURGEON, the collective founded by Dominic Ciambrone (aka The Shoe Surgeon), has dug through this extensive archive for this project, settling on Italy’s iconic national team uniforms from the 2000 Euro as the main source of inspiration.

The result is the Kappa x SURGEON Reaper Jersey. The jersey features an oversized fit and the kit is constructed using elevated materials and high quality fabrication that SURGEON is known for. While colorblocking is the same as Italy’s 2000 Euro jersey, the colors have been switched to black and white with gold accents, the gold being an homage to the golden era of the sport. SURGEON’s reaper logo is featured throughout, most prominently on the crest on the chest, while SURGEON’s motto “Trust The Process” is more subtly embroidered on the back of the neck. Each piece is equipped with a co-branded tag that denotes its limited edition status.

Limited to just 150 jerseys and 100 shorts worldwide, the Kappa x SURGEON futbol kits drop this Thursday, September 21st exclusively at kappa.com and thesurgeon.com. Check out the kits and their inspo below.
