Since igniting their partnership in 2021, Stone Island and New Balance have been fusing their respective brand DNA’s on releases like the RC Elite V2 and 574. The Italian luxury brand has now been tasked to launch a brand new NB silhouette, the MADE in UK 991v2.
For its introduction, Stone Island dresses the 991v2 in dark neutral hues: olive green, grey, and black. Inspired by adapted industrial spaces that serve as venues and nightclubs, the mesh upper was made to resemble latticed metal. Additional details include nubuck overlays, reflective accents, Stone Island compass logos on the tongues and outsoles, and custom packaging.
As its name implies, the 991v2 is an update to the original 991 that first released in 2001. Uppers have been slightly revamped, though the most noticeable difference is the tooling, which is now equipped with FuelCell cushioning and visually looks like a hybrid of the 991 and 992.
The Stone Island x New Balance 991v2 will launch on October 4th, available via select Stone Island stores and the Stone Island website. A global release will follow on October 18th via New Balance and select retailers. Check out the pair ahead of its release below.
