Nike Is Bringing Back the Air Kukini

0

Nike is bringing the Air Kukini back out the archives. Last retro’d in 2011, the silhouette initially launched as part of the Nike Alpha Project, a subdivision started in 1999 in which input from athletes was incorporated into new product to further innovation and technology. Air Kukini designer Sean McDowell’s inspiration for the silhouette came in part from watching downhill skier Picabo Street and the spider web graphics on his Spyder racing suit. Along with a “Leopard” edition, the model makes its return in a “Topography” colorway.

This Air Kukini features a grey topographical pattern across the light blue, overlayed by the spider web-like plastic cage that holds the silhouette together. Other design details include an Air unit on the heel of the midsole and pull tabs on the tongue and heels.

The Nike Air Kukini “Topography” is expected to drop in the coming months on Nike.com and at select retailers. Check out official images below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for release updates.
