With packed crowds at festivals such as When We Were Young in Las Vegas and Riot Fest in Chicago, it is clear that My Chemical Romance is spearheading a revival of the ’00s emo era. To coincide with the second weekend of WWWY Fest, MARKET is back with a second installment of its MCR collaboration.
Building off the first collection the released earlier this year, this new offering includes a checkered sweater, a woven MCR logo blanket, and a photo tee featuring Gerard Way in his classic black shirt/red tie combo, reimagined with the MARKET arc logo. Rounding out the collection is a black hoodie, a matching long-sleeve shirt, and a beanie.
“When we first connected with My Chemical Romance, we knew it was meant to be more than just one drop – it’s impossible to encapsulate the band’s legacy in one collection and as huge fans of the band, we had to go big,” says Malachi Shockley, Director of Merchandising at MARKET. “For this drop, our team pulled together the ultimate homage collection, referencing the iconic classroom shoot from MCR’s “I’m Not Okay” debut. We tried to instill the nostalgic emo feel that MCR is known for across the capsule. This one is for the fans, we hope they love it as much as we loved making it.”
MARKET x MCR Part 2 is available now exclusively on the MARKET website. Preview the collection in the images below.
