At the top of the year, Chicago designer Joe Freshgoods announced his partnership with New Balance by showing off some new custom-made bling via social media while on vacation in Turks and Caicos. Today, on his 34th birthday, Freshgoods made a similar announcement by revealing a new chain to go along with his New Balance ring.

The chain, made by Chicago’s Torres Omar Jewelers, features an iced-out pendant with Joe’s “JFG” initials above Converse’s star and chevron logo. This upcoming Converse collaboration brings things full circle for Joe, as his first couple sneaker releases were unofficial Converse collabs. In 2017, Joe released the smiley face-adorned Don’t Be Mad Chuck 70, which was followed be a “Jover Street Goods” version that released at ComplexCon Chicago in 2019.

The JFG x New Balance collab is one of the most coveted releases of the year and kicked off what would become a stellar year for the New Balance 992. Details on what this Joe Freshgoods x Converse collaboration entails are yet to be revealed, though Joe’s announcement post includes a glimpse of a Chuck 70 toecap and a look at JFG x Converse branded apparel. Check out Joe’s announcement post below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for more news on this collection, which is slated to arrive this December.
