J Balvin’s collaborations with Jordan Brand have given us some of the most vibrant and unique Air Jordans in recent years. Following the bold Air Jordan 1 “Colores Y Vibras” and the LED-equipped Air Jordan 2, the Colombian superstar is now gearing up to launch his own Air Jordan 3.
The J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 “Medellín Sunset” is more than just a sneaker; it’s a cultural statement. The sneaker pays a heartfelt homage to Balvin’s hometown Medellín, Columbia, with the gradient pattern on the heels and midsoles inspired by the city’s scenic sunsets. The upper is constructed from light beige leather with pops of gold on the trim. The sunset-inspired heel tabs and midsoles add to the overall vibrancy of the design, adding a mix of pink, orange, and purple to the design. Additional details include Balvin’s electric smiley face logo on the right heel, Nike Air branding on the left heel, and a creamy, translucent outsole.
The sneakers are releasing alongside a full J Balvin x Jordan apparel collection that is even more colorful than the shoes. Styles include a cardigan, leather vest, jackets and pants, hoodie, tees, and a tank-top. The woven jackets and pants are offered in khaki and black and are constructed from heavyweight canvas. Balvin shows his vibrant aesthetic on the hoodie and tee by giving them a tie-dye treatment of purple, green and orange. The most stand-out piece is the cardigan dressed in a mint green color with elephant print details in the garment’s texture.
The J Balvin x Air Jordan 3 “Medellín Sunset” and accompanying apparel is currently expected to drop on September 23rd on SNKRS and at select Nike retailers.
