Francisco Lindor & New Balance Pay Homage to “Vintage Puerto Rico”

4x MLB All-Star Francisco Lindor and New Balance have announced the launch of Lindor’s next signature cleat and trainer, the New Balance Lindor 2 “Vintage Puerto Rico.” This launch is a special homage to Lindor’s PR roots releasing just in time for Hispanic Heritage Month.

The “Vintage Puerto Rico” colorway draws inspiration from the original design of Puerto Rico’s flag. While the flag that is most prominent today uses a navy blue color, the original 1895 Puerto Rico flag used a lighter sky blue. It wasn’t until 1952 that the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico adopted the navy shade to match that of the United States flag. However, the sky blue version is still used to this day on occasion.

Sky blue covers the majority of the synthetic uppers, paired with white straps and red details to complete the vintage flag-inspired look. Underfoot on the Lindor 2 is a plush FuelCell midsole, adding a propulsive feel to the premium baseball offering. There are two cleat versions offered , one with a 7-spike metal plate and another with a 9-spike composite plate, while the trainer (“Pre-Game”) version is equipped with a basketball-inspired sole unit with a durable rubber outsole.

The New Balance Lindor 2 “Vintage Puerto Rico” cleats and trainer launch on Friday, September 15th, available on the New Balance website and at select retailers. Check out all three versions below.
