Anthony Edwards Debuts adidas AE 1 “Georgia Red Clay”

0

Did you see that insane Anthony Edwards dunk last night?! The 2x NBA All-Star posterized John Collins in the Wolves’ win against the Jazz, and fans are already calling it the dunk of the year.

The game last night was also where Ant-Man debuted a new colorway of his adidas AE 1, the “Georgia Red Clay.” Edwards pays homage to his hometown of Atlanta with this colorway, inspired by Georgia’s famous “red clay” soil. The soil in the Piedmont region gets its red color from its high iron oxide content and has a variety of uses including pottery, brick making, and agriculture. You may remember that Tremaine Emory also used Georgia Red Clay as inspiration for his Denim Tears x ASICS GEL-MC Plus collab in 2021.

The “Georgia Red Clay” AE 1 features an upper dressed entirely in a coral-like hue, including the TPU Generative Support Wing overlay and the knit underlay. This marks the second AE 1 colorway to swap out the black knit and opt instead for a tonal look, following in the footsteps of the recently released “Velocity Blue.” A hit of black is then applied to the Three Stripes logo on the heels, as well as on the laces.

The adidas AE 1 “Georgia Red Clay” is set to release on April 4th via adidas.com and select retailers such as Foot Locker, Champs Sports, and Kids Foot Locker. Check ’em out below.
