The North Face and Japanese streetwear brand UNDERCOVER are joining forces for the first time ever, together presenting a new partnership titled “SOUKUU.” Led by visionary designer Jun Takahashi, the project is described as “guided by the quiet confidence of nature” and “born from the balance of calm and chaos.”

SOUKUU (“蒼空,” which translates to “blue sky”) kicks off its first seasonal collection with a large selection of outdoor wear that features some of The North Face’s most cutting-edge technological innovations, including FUTUREFLEECE, Cloud Down, and DotKnit. The classic Nuptse Jacket is a highlight of the collection, reworked with 800-fill-power ProDown that offers moisture resistance and high heat retention. It is joined by a 50/50 Mountain Jacket and Geodesic Shell Jacket, while under layers include long-sleeve fleeces, heavyweight knit tees, and graphic tees that pay homage to climbing monks.

The apparel is accompanied by a selection of high-altitude mountaineering accessories, including fur-lined hats, practical backpacks, and gloves adorned with the words “LOVE” and “PEACE.” On the footwear side, the collection includes two styles: a padded snow boot and the tactical mesh-equipped Glenclyffe boot. Both are equipped with a Vibram outsole for traction and durability.

SOUKUU Fall/Winter 2023 by The North Face x UNDERCOVER launches Tuesday, October 24th on thenorthface.com, at select The North Face stores, as well as at select global retailers such as Mytheresa. Check out the lookbook shots below.
