Super Bowl weekend is here! As part of the festivities, Nike has released a special colorway of the Air Max Penny 1 dubbed the “Penny Story.”
This Penny 1 features a color scheme inspired by the iconic 1997 Nike ad “Lil Penny’s Super Bowl Party,” which originally aired during Super Bowl XXXI. The ad featured an all-star cast, with notable appearances including Tiger Woods, Tyra Banks, Barry Sanders, Stevie Wonder, Ken Griffey Jr., Jaleel White, and Jonathan Lipnicki (the kid from Jerry Maguire). The shoe features purple and neon green accents that match the title card of the ad. Uppers are dressed primarily in white, the color of Lil Penny’s chef’s hat, and the midsole comes in grey, the color of Lil Penny’s shirt.
