Original Story (10/05/23): Miu Miu has revealed its next New Balance collaboration and it’s not another 574. The Prada sister brand has moved on to a new yet familiar silhouette for SS24, offering a reinterpretation of the classic 530.
Just debuted on the Paris Fashion Week catwalk is the Miu Miu x New Balance 530 SL. The design uses New Balance’s heritage 530 running shoe as a base, though deconstructed to be made lighter and ultra-flat. Long gone is the thick ABZORB midsole, replaced with a super thin gum sole for a lower profile. Uppers still bare the classic 530 shape, though the mesh layers have been scrapped in favor of a full suede makeover. The inclusion of rawhide laces in unison with standard laces adds a premium touch, and the design is rounded out with a co-branded tongue badge. The shoe is offered in two colorways: tan and reddish brown.

Update (02/11/24): Following its reveal on the runway a few months back in tan and burgundy, the Miu Miu x New Balance 530 SL now appears in an all-white colorway with mesh uppers. This pair is currently available at the Miu Miu Aoyama Flagship Store in Tokyo. Stay tuned for wider release info and additional updates.
