Nike Air Max 90 GORE-TEX “Infrared” Now Available

Original Story When it comes to classic Air Maxes, there are few as iconic as the “Infrared” Air Max 90. After bringing it back in OG form in 2020 for its 30th anniversary, Nike is now dropping a revamped iteration equipped with waterproof GORE-TEX technology.

There are a few key differences from the GORE-TEX version to the OG version. Starting with the materials, the breathable mesh upper has been upgraded to a thicker GORE-TEX mesh that prevents moisture absorption. As suede is easily harmed by the elements, the grey overlays are now constructed from leather. To highlight its waterproof construction, GORE-TEX branding has been added to the tongues and side panels. There is also a new, abstract print on the outsole, possibly shaped to look like a puddle. If we’re getting all the way technical, the shade of red has also been tweaked, as the OG “Infrared” uses a “Radiant Red” hue and this pair features “Bright Crimson.”

This is not the only GORE-TEX Air Max 90 in Nike’s repertoire. Just a couple days ago, the Swoosh introduced the AM90 GORE-TEX in two colorways: one in “Medium Olive” and another in “Anthracite.”
