Following a reveal of one of this year’s “Puerto Rico” Air Force 1s, Nike now officially announces the its full 2022 Puerto Rico collection.
Since the original “Puerto Rico” Air Force 1 released in 2000, Nike has celebrated the Boricua community through product, storytelling, and engagement. In 2022, Nike recognizes the rich history and heritage of the community with a new collection featuring two Air Force 1s and two Nike Sportswear polo colorways.
The collection features a New York meets San Juan theme. The color palette on the multi-colored Air Force 1 is inspired by the buildings and hand-painted signs of San Juan, as well as the Bodegas of NYC. The second colorway is more subtle, dressed in all white with Sky Blue accents. Both include a domino perforation pattern and mini-Domino decorative dubraes, celebrating the cherished activity that brings communities in New York and San Juan together. Graphics on the insoles and polo feature phrases heard in and around neighborhoods in both cities. Like last year’s “Puerto Rico” Air Max 97, the shoes come boxed with a towel, this time in blue and adorned with domino graphics.
The Nike Air Force 1 “Puerto Rico” will be available for purchase on June 4th, while the polo drops on June 8th. Catch them on SNKRS and select retailers across the US and in Puerto Rico.
