Following the release of the apparel collab earlier this season, Supreme and Nike are back once again, this time digging into the Swoosh archive to bring back the Darwin Low.
Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Darwin was made originally released in 1994 as a basketball silhouette, made famous by NBA legend Dennis Rodman. Its design broke conventions (just like Rodman), as it was the first Nike shoe to feature a backwards Swoosh, long before Travis Scott and the Cactus Jack Jordan 1.
The original Air Darwin featured leather construction, though Nike also released a low version in 1995 with canvas uppers. While the Air Darwin has been retro’d before (most recently in 2018), the Darwin Low has never been reintroduced, that is until now.
Supreme is bringing back the Darwin Low, this time as an SB model, releasing it in four colorways: Black, Sail, Volt, and Camo. It features the same canvas construction as the OG Darwin Lows, with other features including Phylon midsoles, leather ankle collars, and fleece sockliners. Supreme and Nike SB co-branding is found on the tongues, with additional Supreme branding found on the lateral side panel tag and on the insoles.
The Supreme x Nike SB Darwin Low drops May 2nd on the Supreme website and at Supreme locations. Check out all four colorways below.
