Original Story (08/24/22): After dropping special colorways for Los Angeles and the Bronx, Nike continues the Air Force 1 40th anniversary celebration with a “NOLA” edition for the city of New Orleans.
The “NOLA” Air Force 1 is filled with shiny and sparkly details, nodding to the “bling bling” era of hip-hop popularized by Lil Wayne and the Cash Money crew in the late 90’s and early aughts. It comes dressed primarily in white patent leather with pops of gold throughout, such as on the eyelets, heel panels, “504” lace charms, and lace tips. The Swoosh logos on the side panels also feature gold trim, with the medial Swoosh made of smooth white patent leather and the lateral Swoosh dressed in metallic silver. Tongue tags come in a red-orange tint, matching the red-to-orange gradient of the insoles. Rounding out the design is a gold foil embossed “NOLA” motif on the lateral heel with the letter L replaced with the state of Louisiana.
