First Look at Travis Scott & Harmony Korine’s ‘AGGRO DR1FT’

UTOPIA is finally here! Travis Scott’s highly-anticipated 4th studio album dropped this past Friday, kicking off a new era for the Houston artist. Aside from the music, La Flame has also delivered a few accompanying visuals, including music videos for the songs “GOD’S COUNTRY” and “K-POP” and theatrical release film titled Circus Maximus. However, there is another film production involving Scott to look forward to.

Still on the way is AGGRO DR1FT, a new film produced by A24 and directed by Harmony Korine that stars Travis Scott alongside Spanish actor Jordi Mollà. Not much is known about the film so far, only that is an 80-minute action-oriented film shot entirely in infrared.

Scott first teased his partnership with A24 back in August 2021, sharing an image of a script with most of the titled redacted, leaving only the last two letters, “IA,” visible. At the time, fans believed this would be a accompanying film for UTOPIA, or possibly a second project titled DYSTOPIA, though it appears any previous titles have been scrapped in favor of AGGRO DR1FT.

Harmony Korine has some prior experience working with Travis Scott. Along with being one of the six credited directors for Circus Maximus (alongside Gaspar Noé, Nicolas Winding Refn, Valdimar Jóhannsson, Kahlil Joseph, and Scott himself), Korine previously worked on the cover art for the JACKBOYS album in 2019. The acclaimed director also made a cameo appearance in the 2016 music video for Gucci Mane and Travis Scott’s “Last Time.”

AGGRO DR1FT will premiere at the 2023 Venice International Film Festival, which runs from August 30th through September 9th. The film will also be released in select theaters and on streaming platforms later this year. Check out the first teaser image posted by La Biennale di Venezia below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
