THAMES MMMXX founder, model, and adidas pro rider Blondey McCoy is adding to his list of Three Stripe footwear collabs. Following the with the introduction of the adidas Blondey Pro Model.
Once again diving into the adidas Basketball archives, Blondey transforms the 1965 Pro Model into a skate shoe for the modern day, adding his signature avante-garde twist to the project. The shoe comes in two colorways, Indigo and White, each featuring a transparent TPU upper, similar to the previously released Blondey Superstar. The see-through uppers are paired with synthetic leather tongues and eyelets, while the classic shell toe design remains intact. As a final touch, “Blondey” branding appears in gold foil on the lateral side panel.
“Making your own stuff from scratch is one thing. But being trusted with another brand’s DNA, to build on a tried-and-tested formula, to pen a chapter or even a paragraph in a book like this–it’s a great responsibility,” says Blondey. “And with great responsibility comes great excitement!”
The adidas Blondey Pro Model makes its debut this Saturday, August 5th, dropping in the Indigo colorway on adidas CONFIRMED and the THAMES MMMXX website. The white colorway will then drop globally on August 25th via adidas.com/skateboarding and select skate shops. Check out both colorways below.
