GANNI Girls rejoice! The Danish fashion brand is back with a new collaboration with New Balance. Following last year’s initial team-up on the 2002R, the duo reunite in 2023 to deliver a collection of three sneakers: two 1906Rs and an RC30 Trackster.
Officially debuted today on the Copenhagen Fashion Week SS24 runway, the GANNI x New Balance 1906R styles come in “Egret” and “Blazing Yellow,” while the RC30 dons a split black-and-yellow “Bumblebee” colorway. Branding across the collection is minimal, though the RC30s features fun embroidered co-branding on the medial heels. All three shoes come packaged in a bright yellow box with caution tape-style graphics, matching the color story of the shoes themselves.
“We are so hyped to be launching our second collaboration with the New Balance team,” says GANNI creative director Ditte Reffstrup. “Honestly, we have had so much fun working on this, there is such a creative synergy between us and a lot of mutual respect for what we both bring to the table. Collaboration is such a source of energy for me, I love working with people and finding new creative heights together. I can’t wait to go dancing in these!”
The accompanying campaign imagery is comprised of playful illustrations by New York Times cartoonist Suerynn Lee and features cameos from GANNI’s Ditte Reffstrup and New Balance ambassador and tennis superstar Coco Gauff. These illustrations can be found on billboards across Copenhagen, London, and New York City.
The GANNI x New Balance 1906R in both colorways will first drop via GANNI.com and at select GANNI stores on Wednesday, August 16th. A second release via NewBalance.com and New Balance stores will follow on August 18th. The RC30 Trackster will be available exclusive to GANNI stores and GANNI.com.
