Official Look at Drake & Nike’s NOCTA Air Zoom Drive

0

Original Story (08/28/23): Drake and Nike’s NOCTA is bringing back a silhouette from the past with a new slick look. Following the NOCTA Hot Step and the soon-to-be-released NOCTA Glide, the third silhouette to launch will be the NOCTA Air Zoom Drive.

The Air Zoom Drive running shoe originally released in 1999 part of the Alpha Project, a series of athlete-driven performance footwear which also gave us innovative silhouettes like the Air Presto and Air Zoom Citizen. With his next NOCTA release, Drake seems to be digging in Nike’s archive, putting a spotlight on a forgotten silhouette instead of your usual suspects (like an Air Force 1).

As seen in the post above, the original Air Zoom Drive featured a mesh upper with a slim air bubble in the midsole. Drake gives the Air Zoom Drive a whole new aesthetic by giving it a stealthy all-black colorway with reflective accents and leather and ballistic mesh construction. The NOCTA version also features perforations along the lateral sidewall, replacing the protrusions found on the original. As a final touch, NOCTA’s triple sword logo appears on the heels and outsoles, with additional NOCTA branding on the front and rear pull tabs.

The release for the NOCTA Air Zoom Drive is expected to take place this holiday season on SNKRS, NOCTA.com, and select retailers, priced at $165 USD. Check out the images below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.

Update (12/29/23): The NOCTA Air Zoom Drive is now expected to launch in early 2024. Check out the official images below.
