adidas Skateboarding and Montreal’s Dime have come together to release a fresh take on the Busenitz Vulc II silhouette. The project honors skateboarding icon Dennis Busenitz and his original pro model, the adidas Busenitz Pro, first released in 2006.
The relationship between Busenitz and Dime developed before Dime even existed, as Busenitz and Dime’s co-founder Antoine Asselin came up together as riders for REAL Skateboards. This longtime friendship set the foundation for Dime’s second adidas collaboration, following up the Superstar ADV collab that released earlier this year.
The Dime Busenitz Vulc II features full suede uppers with Dime’s signature “wave-design” (carried over from the Superstar ADVs) applied to the leather three stripes branding. The shoe features wider foxing tape for a vintage feel and is finished with adidas Dime cobranding that’s debossed on the heels. The shoe comes in two colorways: Clear Granite with pink stripes and Cardboard with grey and dark brown on the stripes.
“For the Busenitz Vulc II, we wanted to incorporate unique color combinations in a skate friendly suede material that we hope will appeal to fans of this model and help introduce the style to a new audience as well,” says Dime’s Mark Regimbal. “Dennis is universally respected in skateboarding and so [our] partnership with adidas should include someone like Dennis, who helped build the adidas Skateboarding program when it began.”
The Dime x adidas Busenitz Vulc II launches December 9th via dimemtl.com, the CONFIRMED app, and at Dime’s Montreal flagship. A wider release is going down December 11th at select skate shops. Check out both colorways below.
