The Y-3 line by adidas and acclaimed designer Yohji Yamamoto has spawned a wide range of avante-garde footwear silhouettes over the years, though this next drop features some of Y-3’s most bold and daring designs to date.
Introducing the Y-3 GENDO. Revealed in low-top Superstar and high-top Pro Model forms, the shoe features a fully hollowed out TPU plate that was first created by the adidas innovation team as a performance running midsole. With this experimental tooling, Yamamoto and adidas explore the concepts of negative space and elevation in ways they’ve never done before.
The futuristic midsoles are paired with classic uppers that are virtually the same as standard Superstars and Pro Models, though the construction has been elevated with premium leather. The Pro Model also opts for a zip closure instead of a traditional lace system. Each style is available in white with black accents as well as in all black.
The adidas Y-3 GENDO Superstar is available now on adidas.com, while the GENDO Pro Model is set to release October 21st. Both styles will also be globally at Yohji Yamamoto boutiques, the Yohji Yamamoto webshop, and select retailers. Check out the styles below.
