Following a reveal of the “Inside Out” Dunk and “Ballistic” Air Force 1, UNDEFEATED has officially announced the release of their upcoming “Dunk vs AF-1” pack, a celebration of the LA retailer and the legacy it has built on La Brea Avenue.
The idea for the pack stems from the early days of UNDEFEATED, where members of the crew got into a heated debate about which silhouette was the most classic streetwear shoe of all time. This split the staff into two camps, with one side supporting the Air Force 1 while the other defended the Dunk.
For this release, UNDEFEATED has taken two of its past Nike collaborations on the Dunk and Air Force 1 and swapped the designs onto the opposite silhouette. The “Inside Out” Dunk Low is a throwback to 2006, when UNDEFEATED and Nike introduced the “On Your Feet Kid” Air Force 1, featuring a natural-toned premium leather, shemagh pattern overlays, and a lemon frost-colored Swoosh. The inspiration for the “Ballistic” Air Force 1 goes even further back, dressed in olive drab and ballistic nylon as a nod to a 2003 friends-and-family Dunk High limited to 48 pairs.
To celebrate the launch, UNDEFEATED asked notable sneakerheads which side they were on: Dunk or AF-1. Check out the campaign video below, which features Eric Koston, KB Lee, Aleali May, Jimmy Gorecki, Alex Smith, and Lauren Wassler.
The UNDEFEATED x Nike “Dunk vs AF-1” pack will be available on Friday, June 18th at 8am PST on Undefeated.com. Online raffle for in-store pickup at all Undefeated Chapter Stores begins Tuesday, June 15th at 8am PST.
