Founded by DJ Jack Da Ripper in NYC, UBEENJACKED is all about a passion for music. The independent company held its first show in 2014, hosted by A$AP MOB. Since then, UBEENJACKED has been throwing concerts and special events across the country, working with the likes of Post Malone, Migos, and Justin Bieber, to name a few.
While UBEENJACKED first started out as a lifestyle concert series, it has since grown into a creative agency specializing in music, streetwear, art, and culture. UBJ is now launching its first sneaker, created in collaboration with Spanish footwear brand Sneep Crew.
UBEENJACKED has created a limited edition “Genesis” colorway of Sneep Crew’s Pro Zool silhouette. As mentioned, UBJ is all about passion, so the name was derived from a quote from Galileo Galilei: “Passion is the genesis of genius.”
The color palette of the “Genesis” Pro Zool was selected by combining the colors of the flag of each brand’s home country: Sneep Crew from Spain (red and yellow) and UBEENJACKED from USA (red, white, and blue). These colors also nod to Jack Da Ripper’s Colombian heritage, as the combination of colors are also found on the Colombian flag (red, yellow, blue). The shoe also features a white perforated toe box and black suede overlays.
Additional details include 3M reflective branding and accents, a duo-lacing system, graphic insoles featuring the signature UBJ ski mask, and a Vibram outsole. The “Genesis” comes in a custom box decorated in a collage of photos from shows that UBEENJACKED has thrown over the years. The shoes are also limited to 100 pairs and come packaged with extra laces, branded socks in red and white, and a red tote bag.
