Todd Snyder x New Balance 237 “City Gym”

NY-based menswear label Todd Snyder continues its partnership with New Balance with a “City Gym” edition of the 237.

Following the “10th Anniversary” 992 released in 2021, Todd Snyder now offers a 237 inspired by City Gym, the label’s pop-up concept space that opened in 2013 on Elizabeth Street in NYC’s Nolita neighborhood. This space featured a raw, garage-grey aesthetic and saw Todd Snyder expanding into more sporty and athletic pieces, including a collaboration with Champion that debuted at the pop-up.

The “City Gym” 237 comes in a grey-on-grey color scheme, offering a modern take on vintage athletic gear. Oversized N logos are made of chenille, reminiscent of varsity jackets, while the rest of the upper is constructed from satin and hairy suede. As a nod to ’70s era running shoes, the 237 comes with an exposed foam tongue with ripstop nylon, while classic gum rubber waffle-tread outsoles are found underfoot. Additional details include soft terry cloth sockliners and hits of smooth, black leather on the tongue tags and heel counters.

“The varsity trend has only grown since we opened our first City Gym,” says Todd Snyder. “This sneaker taps into it, taking everything we love about old-school athletic style and presenting it in a new-school way.”

The Todd Snyder x New Balance 237 “City Gym” launches on Tuesday, October 25th via raffle on the Todd Snyder website. Check out the pair below.
