Supreme Opens New Location in Chicago

After acquiring Supreme in 2020, VF Corp shared it plans to create “sustainable long-term growth” for the brand by adding more locations to it’s psychical store roster. Since then, Supreme has opened new outposts in Berlin and Milan, as well as expanded into the Chinese market with the recent opening of Dover Street Market Beijing. Chicago is now next up, marking the brand’s first US location outside of New York or California.

Officially opening this Thursday, Supreme’s latest store is located in the heart of Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood on the bustling Milwaukee Avenue. While the neighborhood has been considered a streetwear hub for decades, some of its appeal has died down in recent years. With the addition of Supreme and the opening of Round Two in 2019, Wicker Park is poised to return to its former glory.

To commemorate the new location, Supreme has released a Chicago skate edit shot by Johnny Wilson, Blake Matthews, and Alex Greenberg. The clip is soundtracked by Moodymann’s ‘The Third Track’ and features Nik Stain, Kris Brown, Josh Kalis, Tyshawn Jones, and more.

Supreme is also commemorating the opening with a Chicago-exclusive Box Logo tee. While many were hoping for a drop of the Chief Keef photo tee or the Pan-African Box Logo revealed at Virgil Abloh’s “Figures of Speech” exhibition, the actual Chicago Box Logo tee features a metallic silver design that nods to the city’s iconic Cloud Gate sculpture, aka The Bean.

As for the space itself, the exterior facade is painted in bright white with a luminated Supreme box logo sign placed above the entrance. Once inside, visitors are greeted by a gold Sphinx statue designed by the legendary Mark “Gonz” Gonzales. The interior wall features the works of Rita Ackermann, a Hungarian-born artist who first collaborated with Supreme as part of their Fall 2019 collection.

Supreme Chicago officially opens this Thursday, November 10th, located at 1438 N. Milwaukee Avenue. Business hours are 11am to 7pm Monday through Saturday, 12pm to 6pm on Sundays. Check out pics of the new store below.
