In 2020, Reebok brought back the OG colorway of Shawn Kemp’s Kamikaze II and announced a name change for the silhouette. The new name, the Hurrikaze II, was announced earlier this year, replacing the original name that was deemed to be insensitive. The Hurrikaze II is now back in a “Make It Rain” colorway that pays homage to Kemp’s “Reign Man” nickname.
While not an OG colorway, the “Make It Rain” Hurrikaze II is actually a retro of a 2013 release. It comes in a white, green, and yellow color scheme undoubtedly inspired by the Seattle Supersonics, the team Shawn Kemp played with from 1989 to 1997. The 3D green overlays feature a water droplet-like finish, as if covered in rain drops.
