Club C “Vote” Releasing via Reebok’s First Pitch Platform

Reebok has launched a new innovative platform called First Pitch that let’s the consumer decide if a shoe is even worth making before it is actually created. See Reebok’s video explaining the platform below:

The first shoe to release on this platform, the Classic Leather “Bee Keeper,” reached its goal of 500 pairs sold in 12 hours, which is within the program’s allotted time frame, so Reebok is making the shoe and will ship it in approximately nine weeks. Reebok now presents the next shoe to utilize this platform, the Club C “Vote.”

According to Reebok, the Club C “Vote” is a “symbol of our right to decide, to choose liberty, humanity and equality, and to separate right from wrong because no matter our background, race, political affiliation or belief system, it starts with US.” Its color palette is inspired by old-school, sun-bleached election pins and features an elephant/donkey character illustration that represents the United States’ two-party system. Other nifty details include “VO” and “TE” on the heel tabs and Article 21 of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights text on the back of the tongue, which reads: “The will of the people shall be the basis of the authority of government; this will shall be expressed in periodic and genuine elections which shall be by universal and equal suffrage and shall be held by secret vote or by equivalent free voting procedures.”

The Reebok Club C “Vote” opens for funding at 11pm CT on Wednesday, August 19th via firstpitch.reebok.com. The price will start at $1 and will go up $1 with each commitment until it hits the retail price of $90 USD. If Reebok’s goal of 500 commitments isn’t reached, the shoe will not be made.
