Palm Angels & Vault by Vans Debut First-Ever Collab

Back in March, luxury lifestyle brand Palm Angels held a runway show for its Fall 2022 collection during Milan Fashion Week, providing a first look at a collaboration with Vans. Today, Palm Angels and Vault by Vans officially announce the release of their first-ever collaborative collection.

The three-piece Vault by Vans x Palm Angels capsule pays homage to the freedom and individuality of skate culture. The skateboarding scene has always been a primary reference for Palm Angels, with roots grounded in images shot by Francesco Ragazzi and published in 2014, in Venice beach in Los Angeles.

“Palm Angels started with a photography book and Vans was already there,” says Francesco Ragazzi, founder and creative director of Palm Angels. “I took a picture of a guy skating in Venice beach, wearing the most vintage Vans Sk8-Hi I had ever seen and since then, the idea of Palm Angels collaborating with Vans has always been in my mind. It’s now finally reality. With this collection I wanted to recreate exactly that same image: few models with a vintage feeling and a contemporary take.”

Included in the capsule is the Sk8-Hi VLT LX, Sk8-Mid VLT LX, and the Old Skool LX, each style dressed in Palm Angels’ signature red, grey, white, and black color palette. The shoes feature see-through midsoles with the iconic checkerboard print found underfoot. The Vans jazz stripe has also been reinterpreted with Palm Angels-branded strips of tape covering the sides of the shoes.

The Palm Angels x Vault by Vans collection launches on Tuesday, September 27th via Palm Angels, followed by a global release at select Vault by Vans retailers on October 1st. Check out the campaign photos below.
