After dropping an NBA collection earlier this fall, October’s Very Own (OVO) is back with a new “Draft Day” collection created in collaboration with the Toronto Raptors and Mitchell & Ness.
The Toronto Raptors have closes ties to OVO, as Drake has been appointed global ambassador of the team since 2013. Together with Mitchell & Ness, the trio are dropping a limited edition capsule collection that nods back to the Raptors’ 1995 inaugural season.
The capsule includes throwback Hardwood Classics Swingman jerseys in white (home) and purple (away), the same colors as the team’s 1995 jerseys. The OVO owl appears on the left chest, while a tag above the jock tag reads “2008-Forever October’s Very Own,” referencing the year OVO was founded. Other previewed pieces include a varsity jacket and hats.
The campaign for the collection stars Damon Stoudamire, who was selected in the first round by the Toronto Raptors during the 1995 NBA draft, which was held in Toronto that year. OVO also features Raptors superfan Nav Bhatia in the promotional imagery.
The OVO x Toronto Raptors x Mitchell & Ness “Draft Day” collection will be available on Wednesday, November 16th at OVO stores, the OVO website, and the Mitchell & Ness website.
