Following the release of the Recycled Canvas Pack, Nike will keep its focus on sustainability going with a revamped version of the Nike SB Janoski. This update features Flyleather construction made with at least 50% recycled leather fiber.
The flipped Flyleather uppers have a suede-like touch to them, but that isn’t the only part of the shoe that was designed with a sustainable approach. The tongue labels and laces are also made from recycled materials, while the minimally-embroidered Swoosh uses the right amount of thread only for the shape. The outsole has also been thinned out to minimize material, plus it keeps the sneaker lightweight and gives it a broken-in feel.
The world is a skater’s playground and Nike SB wants to keep it that way. The Janoski Flyleather is Nike SB’s most sustainably built skate shoe to date, a stepping stone in the journey towards complete zero waste. Check out the shoe in the images below and look for the Nike SB Zoom Janoski Flyleather RM to release September 7th on Nike.com and at select skate shops.
