Original Story (10/31/22): During pride month earlier this year, Nike released an elaborate “Be True” sneaker collection that celebrated the LGBTQIA+ community. However, there is one more “Be True” sneaker set to release before the year ends.
The new SB Dunk Low “Be True” adds more color and design than the other “Be True” Dunk Low that released back in June. The yellow mudguard and shoelaces make the sneaker pop, complemented by pastel pink and blue Nike checks. Loose-knit mesh overlays are used on the quarter panels and toe box, with similar chainlink graphics appearing on the insoles. The tongue is branded with a Nike SB and Be True logo, while the inner side of the tongue shares a quote that reads, “I See You Always In All Ways.” The Dunk is then topped off with a cute design that resembles dancing people on the rear quarter, as well as a smiling sun on the heel tab.
A release date for the Nike SB Dunk Low “Be True” has yet to be announced, but expect a release in November on SNKRS and at local skate shops. Check out the official images below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
Update (11/12/22): The second Nike SB Dunk Low “Be True” drops on November 18th on SNKRS and at local skate shops. Some info from Nike about the design:
We see you, in all ways—always. Celebrating Trans joy, the timeless skate shoe delivers a fresh look that honors living genuinely and authentically. The eye-catching design uses the artwork of Transman and artist Xavier Schipani to illustrate the euphoric feeling and joy of being free to express who you are. His figurative graphics bring Trans athletes to the playing field, highlighting how sport has the ability to unify. And radiant colors showcase the power of pride. Take a closer look, the chain link graphic inside represents the bonds within the Trans community worldwide. Lace up and let yourself shine—we’re listening.
