Original Story (11/05/21): In 2011, Kanye West and Jay-Z released their joint album Watch The Throne. At the time, Ye was signed to the Swoosh and gearing up to release the Air Yeezy 2. As a fan of the two artists and royalty himself, King James was presented with a Nike LeBron 9 “Watch The Throne” PE to commemorate the album. The PE was extremely rare, only seen on the feet of a select few, including Hit-Boy and Wale. It looks like that pair will soon be getting a public release, as official product images have been uploaded to the Nike servers.
The Nike LeBron 9 “Watch The Throne” comes dressed primarily in black with gold hits on the Swoosh, heel, and top eyelets. It features a floral Givenchy-inspired sockliner and laces with large gold lace jewels attached. Icy blue outsoles round out the design.
This PE was followed by a number of Watch The Throne-themed LeBron footwear, including a LeBron 11, a LeBron Zoom Soldier 8, and a LeBron 16. Other versions of the LeBron 9 also surfaced, including one with glow-in-the-dark soles and another dressed in all-gold, the latter a part of the SNKRS LeBron PE Vote Back Tournament.
