It looks like Nike is ramping up the Air Force 1 Mid model this year. We have already seen photos of the Air Force 1 Mid “Independence Day” set to retro in 2022 and even photos of a collaboration with Stussy on the Air Force 1 Mid. For this upcoming release, Nike presents the Air Force 1 Mid dressed in a star-shaped cutout design.
Nike is no stranger to experimenting with the shapes and patterns for its perforations. The “Love Letter” Air Force 1 and Sean Cliver x Nike SB Dunk Lows are clear examples. This time, the AF1 Mid comes dressed in smooth Summit White leather with star perforations covering the entire base. Inspiration for the stars possibly comes from the star grips already found on every AF1 outsole. Tumbled leather overlays and an aged yellow sole add additional definition to the shoe.
The Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Stars” is set to release sometime in 2022 on Nike.com, retailing for $140 USD. Check out official images below and stay tuned for release updates.
