Nike’s “Happy Pineapple” Air Force 1 Is Made From Recycled Cork

Last month, Nike announced its Plant Cork Pack as part of the company’s Move To Zero Summer 2021 footwear lineup. Revealed today as part of this pack is the “Happy Pineapple” Air Force 1.

According to Nike, the shoes in the Plant Cork Pack are made with about 20% recycled content with outsoles crafted from 9% recycled cork infused in the rubber. This Air Force 1 takes it a step further by crafting the entire upper from recycled cork. The yellow Swoosh also appears to be made from Piñatex, pineapple-based vegan leather, with a green underlay adding a touch of color to the wheat-like palette. A “Happy Pineapple” logo appears on the tongue, seen on a few other releases from Nike this year, including an Air Zoom Type, Air Max 95, and Air Max 90.

Look for the Nike Air Force 1 “Happy Pineapple” to release this summer at select retailers and Nike.com. Grab a first look below and stay tuned to Modern Notoriety for updates.
