New Balance has officially unveiled its latest performance basketball silhouette, the Fresh Foam BB v2, an update to the original Fresh Foam BB that launched in 2023.
For this update, the New Balance design team focused heavily on the underfoot sensation, ensuring that the shoe provides next-level comfort and is softer than its predecessor while still retaining its responsiveness. This is achieved through the use of dual density Fresh Foam X technology, with firmer foam on the perimeter of the midsole and a softer durometer foam directly underfoot. The full-length cushioning provides smooth heel to toe transition, while an internal midfoot TPU plate provides torsional rigidity in the shoe. Plus, the hexagonal outsole pattern provides elite level traction for those quick cuts to the hoop.
New Balance athlete and star Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine worked closely with the design team to create the Fresh Foam BB v2. “This is my favorite performance shoe, hands down, and I am proud of the work I did with the design team,” say LaVine. “This is the only shoe I want to wear when I get back out on the court. We also have some fire PEs coming this season that I can’t wait to showcase.”
The Fresh Foam BB v2 will launch in the “Moonbeam” colorway, offered in neutral tones with soft pink accents. The colorway was designed to be elegant and sophisticated to match Zach LaVine’s off-court identity.
