McDonald’s Reveals Collab With Palace Skateboards

McDonald’s is continuing its infiltration of the streetwear scene, having just unveiled a new collaboration with Palace Skateboards.

Following recent team-ups with the likes of CLOT, VANDYTHEPINK, and Cactus Plant Flea Market, the fast food chain is now linking up with the London-based streetwear/skate brand in celebration of its new As Featured In Meal. The meal, launching globally on August 14th, comes with one of three main menu items, each famously featured in movies, TV shows, and music over the years. Customers can select between 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, or Big Mac, and the meal also comes with Medium World Famous Fries, a Medium soft drink and a Loki-branded Sweet ‘N Sour Sauce.

Scanning the code on the As Featured In Meal packaging gives you access to purchase pieces from the Palace x McDonald’s capsule. The offering includes co-branded tees and hoodies with nods to Palace’s famous (and hilarious) product descriptions. Also, on August 18th, Palace will be taking over the world’s oldest McDonald’s for a special pop-up. Opened in 1953, this McDonald’s is located in Downey, California at 10207 Lakewood Boulevard.

Prior to the announcement, McDonald’s teased its As Featured In Meal on its socials by sharing scenes from movies and other pieces of media that prominently feature the fast food chain. This includes scenes from Coming to America, Seinfeld, The Devil is a Part-Timer!, and the OG Richie Rich. They also shared an IMDB-style list of media that features McDonald’s and snuck in Palace’s Palasonic part in there. The Golden Arches do in fact make an appearance in Palasonic.

Another piece of media that McDonald’s is featured in is the upcoming Season 2 of Marvel Studios’ Loki. Fans of the Disney+ series can scan the lid on the Loki-branded Sweet ‘N Sour Sauce to unlock exclusive AR content on Snapchat developed by Marvel Studios. As Loki will have to deal with his time-skipping dilemma in Season 2, McDonald’s will be turning back the clock at one of their Brooklyn locations (6620 Bay Parkway), filling the restaurant with McDonald’s memorabilia from 1982. This experience starts August 30th and will last for three days.
