McDonald’s has entered this year’s footwear conversation through a partnership with adidas Basketball. The newest colorway of Damian Lillard’s adidas Dame 6 pays homage to the fast food restaurant’s popular sweet ‘n sour sauce.
At first glance, the bright green upper demands full attention. The signature Golden Arches stand out on the lateral side, contrasting the green. Orange detail peeks through on the medial and you can see other hits of McDonald’s branding. “Sauce” can be read on the medial midsole in oversized double-layered letters. The tongue tag, partly hidden by the laces, says “Dame Sauce” in a resemblance to McDonald’s sweet ‘n sour sauce, placed below an orange adidas label. Additional branding can also be found on the insole, and the whole thing sits on a dual color midsole.
McDonald’s is no stranger to the world of basketball, as they are the namesake sponsor of the annual McDonald’s All-American Game, the highschool level all-star game that is also sponsored by adidas.
